Meet Victoria: The Therapist Who Gets It
- Welcome to Revive Counseling! I’m Victoria Byler, and I specialize in helping people who are tired of feeling stuck. While I work with adults of all backgrounds, I have a particular focus on men’s mental health because I know the unique weight you’re carrying.
- You’re probably here because something isn’t working. Whether it’s work stress eating at you and bleeding into everything else, feeling like you’re failing everyone who counts on you, or just being tired of pretending everything’s fine while carrying everything alone—I get it.
- I’m not here to make you slog through every awkward middle school memory. I’m here to give you real tools that work. Think of me as someone who happens to have the training to help you figure out what’s actually going wrong and how to fix it.
- Outside of work, I’m rewatching Yellowstone for the third time, hiking with my dog, and watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy again. What you see is what you get, and that’s usually what people need. I’m the same person in sessions as I am hiking with my dog.
A Bit About my Background
- I almost became a teacher until psychology pulled me in a different direction. I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2014 and my Master’s in Clinical Counseling in 2016, becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in 2017.
- Since then, I’ve worked in various settings—in-home, community, and private practice—but found my groove helping adults navigate stress, relationship issues, and feeling stuck in life. Now I run Revive Counseling LLC, focused on giving people practical tools that actually work.
- My training includes:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for processing difficult experiences
- Expressive Arts Therapy for when words aren’t enough
- Body-based approaches like breathwork and movement
- I offer both in-person sessions in Cleveland and telehealth options.
Between work deadlines, family commitments, and personal goals, it’s easy to feel like you’re running on fumes. But here’s the thing: ignoring the need for balance and self-care isn’t just unsustainable, it holds you back from being the best version of yourself.
Our process
What to Expect
We talk about what’s not working and what you want to change. No tests, no judgment, just figuring out if we’re a good fit and what needs to happen.
You tell me what success looks like for you. Together we break it down into realistic steps that actually make sense and feel achievable.
You learn practical tools that work for your specific situation. Real strategies you can use immediately, plus practice between sessions.
You’ve built the skills to handle challenges on your own. You’re back in the driver’s seat of your life.
What I Know Best
- I work primarily with men because I understand the specific challenges you face that often go unaddressed. Society tells men to “figure it out” and “be strong,” but rarely gives you the tools to actually handle the pressure.
- The issues I see men struggling with most:
- Work stress that follows you home and affects everything else
- Feeling like everyone depends on you but having no one to lean on
- Relationship problems when you don’t know how to communicate what’s wrong
- Anger that comes out of nowhere or gets directed at the wrong people
- Feeling like you’re failing as a partner, father, or provider
- Anxiety about money, job security, or the future
- Loss of identity when life changes (job loss, divorce, kids leaving home)
- Men are often taught to suppress problems rather than solve them. I help you do the opposite—identify what’s actually wrong and build practical skills to handle it. No shame, no judgment, just real solutions for real problems.

How I Actually Help
- My approach combines practical skills with proven techniques:
- Reframing – When you’re stuck thinking “I’m screwing everything up,” we find a different angle: “What have you handled successfully before?” This builds confidence instead of tearing it down.
- Reading between the lines – I pay attention to what you’re not saying—your body language, tone, hesitation—to understand what’s really going on.
- Connecting with what matters – We figure out what you actually care about, not what you think you should care about. When your actions match your values, everything feels clearer.
- Building self-awareness – I ask the right questions to help you understand your own patterns and choices, so you can make better decisions going forward.
This isn’t endless talking with no direction, these are practical strategies designed to get you unstuck and back in control of whatever life throws at you.
FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
In the best interest of my clients’ treatment process, I do not currently accept insurance, but some clients may be able to obtain reimbursement for part of their treatment costs. I am happy to give you more information about this so you can decide what’s best for you. Please contact me for more information.
Why are you out-of-network?
I am an out-of-network provider, which allows me to provide quality care and specialties for you. My rates are carefully chosen to maintain certifications, continue education for up-to-date care services, reduce burnout, maintain overhead costs, and provide quality care standards.
How long does a therapy session last?
Typically, each session is 55 minutes.
How long will I be in therapy?
Therapy is an investment. Most importantly, an investment in yourself. Variables that impact the duration of services are based on the severity of symptoms, goals, and motivation levels.
What is the ideal therapy session length and frequency?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on various factors like the specific issue, severity, individual progress, and personal goals. Typically, therapy starts weekly and adjusts based on needs. Short-term therapy (10-20 sessions) might address specific issues. Complex challenges or deep-seated issues may require longer-term therapy (months or even years). EMDR requires at least two visits a month to be effective and avoid re-traumatizing you.
What types of therapy do you do?
Person-centered, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Expressive Arts. I meet you where you are and what you want out of your personal goals. I think of these modalities like ingredients; each individual receives their personal recipe.
How can therapy help overcome traumas and emotional problems?
Therapy provides a safe, judgment-free space to work through difficult experiences and emotions. I use proven techniques like EMDR to help you process trauma and develop healthy coping strategies. The goal is to help you understand how past experiences affect your present and give you practical tools to move forward with confidence.
Why the name 'Revive'?
Revive was created with healing in mind. When we experience trauma we can feel disconnected from ourselves and our world. My hope is to provide guidance, tools, and support in order for you to feel safe and restored.
